Dear All, I would like to advertise a postdoctoral position in my NCN Sonata Bis grant called 'Prym theory of Galois coverings' at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland (Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science). The position is for 3 years (starting date is 1st October 2025 or later). A legal requirement to obtain a position is to be at most 7 years after obtaining PhD but this limit can be extended in special circumstances like maternity leaves. The monthly amount of salary is over 1500 Euros after taxes (the salary is in PLN and exact amount depends on the height of the taxes which depends on personal situation) together with some aditional travel expenses (within the grant budget).
The succesful candidate is meant to conduct research within the scope of the grant (curves, Jacobians, abelian varieties, Pryms), attend seminars and help with supervision of students within the grant (no teaching duties).
In the official advertisement, there is a list of application documents needed together with 2 recommendation letters sent directly to my email address. There may be an interview as a part of selection procedure. The deadline of application is 27th July and results will be published by 21st August.
